This week the CDC issued new guidance in the US that encourages ALL people to wear masks, even homemade cloth ones. Since not everyone can afford to pay $14+ per mask during these uncertain times, we decided to make as many non-medical masks as we can available for free.
We are praying for all of our brothers and sister during these uncertain times and hope that this little token of kindness and “unfailing love” will help with some of the stress and anxiety that many are facing right now. With Jehovah’s help, we can face anything, because we are all so precious to him!
“Two sparrows sell for a coin of small value, do they not? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. So have no fear; you are worth more than many sparrows.” – Matthew 10:29-31
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
With 50% of the world in quarantine or at home due to location-wide lockdowns as a result of Covid-19, it’s been made increasingly evident that many have found themselves low in income or temporarily out of work.
In this new world, wearing a mask can mean you and your family are a little more protected from virus. Knowing the situation of many friends right now, we felt it would be a great show of “unfailing love” to be able to provide some relief to those who may not at this time be able to afford the expense of purchasing homemade masks online.
We are offering free masks to our JW brothers and sisters as we have often given things for free over the past 5 years.
No, these are handmade, fabric, non-medical grade masks. We do not represent that these masks are medical devices in any way. They have not been designed nor are they intended to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose or cure any disease or health condition.
On April 6, 2020, the CDC recommended wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. It is based on this suggestion that these masks are being made available. Read more >>
Not being designed for medical purposes, the usefulness of fabric masks might be limited and is not proven. You should not rely only on wearing such a mask, or any mask for that matter, to protect yourself and the ones around you.
You should know you can get only a limited protection from these fabric masks, but also something is better than nothing.
Like any personal protective equipment and device, a face mask must be applied according to certain rules. Compliance with them will help to increase efficiency.
A protective mask should be worn for a maximum of 2 hours, after which it is saturated with moist exhaled air and filters microorganisms worse and also creates a favorable environment for the multiplication of bacteria and viruses.
However, if the mask becomes wet from coughing, sneezing, or breathing, it should be replaced immediately.
After use, it should be removed and washed with detergent and then ironed with a hot iron, or soaked in a special antiseptic solution. After changing the mask, hands should be thoroughly washed with soap or treated with an alcohol-based antiseptic gel.
The masks are free to help support JW friends who at this time may not be able to comfortably afford purchasing one. If you can purchase a mask, we encourage you to do so that we can send masks out to those who really need them.
Each and every mask is handmade by us at home. It takes about 30 minutes to make each individual mask and we’re using fabrics that we already have (so far.)
We are not wealthy or rich by any means and are facing the same difficulties most of you friends are facing. Our state is under lockdown which means all non-essential work has been halted -including our own.
The money for extra supplies (elastic, fabric, thread, packaging & shipping costs) to make the masks will be taken from purchases made by you from our giftshop, our online games, Homeschooling worksheets and our family worship idea kits.
We are able to send 2 free masks per household.
Each and every mask is handmade by us at home. It takes about 30 minutes to make each individual mask , so to make sure we can send more masks to more people (rather than many masks to a few) we’re limiting quantities to this amount.
Please DO NOT submit more than one order for the free masks, or all your orders will be cancelled and rejected & we will not send any masks to you.
No, we do not permit you to submit requests for masks on behalf of any other persons. You may request masks for members of your household only.
We are able to send 2 FREE masks per household. We will cover shipping costs as well, so you pay nothing.
If you need more than 2 masks, we sell additional masks at $9.99 each which helps provide the funds we need to send more masks out.
Some friends have asked to donate, but we do not take donations. If you’d like to help just order a mask or purchase something from our giftshop, our online games, Homeschooling worksheets and our family worship idea kits.

To start, we’re trying to make and mail 100 masks but will keep making and sending them out as long as we can for as long as we can afford to. Every purchase helps, if you can afford to do so! And if you can’t purchase, SHARING is a great way to help.
